The Foundry is a community development project in Cleveland, Ohio which aims to turn an abandoned factory building into an arts incubator. Once renovated, the building will be home to local artists such as sculptors, painters, dance groups, etc. I met the leader of the project through being involved in industrial building documentation efforts and used my drone to document progress on the building as well as filming promotional content. I also had the opportunity to help with the renovation itself. Drawing on welding experience from my time at Lincoln Electric, I helped recreate the main stairwell which had rusted through and collapsed.
